The instructions for making shiitake at home are very simple. To start fruiting we will need to give a shock of humidity and for this we must carefully remove the plastic bag and immerse it in water for 24 hours (the substrate floats and therefore place some weight so that the water covers it).
Choose a cool and ventilated place, the ideal temperature is between 15-20ºC. Place the substrate on a tray or in a box, since we are going to moisten it and the surface where we place it will get wet. If you have a grid at the base we will avoid contamination by excess moisture. We will keep the humidity with a spray several times a day about 30-40 cm away.
In a few days the shiitake will begin to fructify, it is very important to keep the humidity during this process so that the mushrooms develop well, therefore we will spray more often) To collect the mushrooms it is recommended to turn the foot and remove them carefully.
The first bloom is the most important, practically 40-50% of what the substrate bag will produce. Once the first flowering is finished, we will start the production again after about 15 days following the same steps.
