It is a tree that can adapt to a large number of different soils. However, it loves water and humidity, presenting a much faster growth when it grows in areas with more water availability. We must water it as soon as the substrate begins to dry, to optimize growth. It resists salinity and water with a high dissolution relatively well, in such a way that it is not essential to water with osmosis. A plate or tray should not be placed under the bonsai pot, since fig trees do not handle waterlogging well and are very susceptible to root rot. It is recommended to place the fig tree in full sun, because this will help us reduce the leaf, which is quite large.
