Potus Plant (Phothos aurea - Epipremnum) Houseplant

  • Liters: 4 Height: 120 H Container: 20 Cm
  • Houseplant
  • In winter it is better that the temperature does not drop below 14ºC.
  • They are fairly fast growing and easy growing plants widely used as an indoor, greenhouse or terrace and patio plant either in hanging pots or as climbers with a wet moss covered tutor.
  • They should be fertilized in spring and summer every 15 days with mineral fertilizer.
  • They are pruned, at any time, to control their growth or obtain cuttings.

The exposure should never be in direct sunlight but in diffuse light or in shade, although in the latter case they will grow slowly and may lose yellow spots, turning the leaves green.

The soil should drain very well, for which a mixture, in the same proportions, of peat, sphagnum, leaf mulch and coarse sand would do. They are usually transplanted in the first half of spring if the roots appear below the pot.

These plants can be attacked by fungi in the roots if there is excess watering and by spider mites and aphids if the humidity is low.

They multiply quite easily by cuttings, in spring or summer, rooted in sandy soil or in water.
