Seed that vegetates in tropical climates both mountain and coastal areas. In Spain it can be cultivated both in the Balearic and Canary Islands and throughout the Mediterranean coast. It is a very aggressive and invasive species, which forms a thick grass. Characteristics: The germination of the seed requires a temperature in the soil, equal to or greater than 18º C. It enters a dormant state below 4-5º C. Tolerant to heat and drought. Very invasive and felt-forming. Perfect for Mediterranean climate. In parks and gardens with low quality saline water irrigation. Highly tolerant to trampling. Coarse textured grass.

It can be sown with English ray grass (loliums) to speed up its implantation and mask its winter lethargy.
Planting dose 15-20 gr / m² preferably spring and summer.
Mowing height from 2 to 4cm.

Tengo un pequeña jardín de 45m², tengo césped pero muy estropeado trozos que no queda, como he de proceder si quiero poner, sembrar kykuyu
Necesitará 10 gr/m2 de kikuyu + 10 gr/m2 de ray Grass inglés
Segar a unos 4 cm d alto. Escarificar y resembrar. Tapar con medio cm. de una mezcla de sustrato y arena al 50%. Acto seguido pasar el rulo y sembrar.
Hacer la siembra a final de abril. El kikuyu necesita calor para germinar. Según se vaya implantando el kikuyu, el ray Grass desaparecerá.
