Acaricide is a pesticide that is used to eliminate, control or prevent the presence or action of mites through chemical action.

Mites are tiny oval-bodied arachnids in which the head, thorax, and abdomen are fused into an unsegmented body. Like most arachnids, they have tracheal respiration and live in both terrestrial and aquatic habitats. The mite that most affects plants is red (Trombiculidae)
