Pruning

Pruning is an indispensable technique if you want to obtain an abundant and staggered production over the years, the main objective is to stimulate production to achieve a much better and more abundant harvest, causing the formation of flower buds.

The cut of a piece of branch causes the buds below to wake up:

- the cut is made leaving a clean and oblique surface, trying not to damage the bud tissues;

- it is cut taking into account the position and the type of buds.

Fruit species, depending on the age they are in, pruning has a different objective:

Young age: pruning of formation or cultivation. Its objective is to give the plant the shape that it must preserve for life.

Adulthood : production pruning. Its objective is to renew the fruit branches, with cuts that stimulate the formation of new fruits in the main branches

Old age phase: rejuvenation pruning. Its objective is to stimulate the emission of new vegetation, in which it will intervene according to the technique adopted in the juvenile phase.
